ANSSI is the national authority for the protection of Information Systems. Its main mission is to protect the national cyberspace. Specifically, it is responsible for:
 

  • Reduce the vulnerability of the national cyberspace;
  • Manage security incidents;
  • Strengthen the culture of cyber security;
  • Ensure the implementation of national guidelines and the general information systems security strategy;
  • Establish specific standards for the security of information systems;
  • Develop and publish technical guides and benchmarks;
  • Work towards the development of national solutions in the field of information systems security and promote them in accordance with the priorities and programs to be set by ANSSI;
  • Participate in the consolidation of training and capacity building in the field of information systems security;
  • Accredit security auditors of information systems and networks installed on the national territory;
  • Monitor the execution of plans and programs relating to the security of information systems and ensure coordination between stakeholders in this field;
  • Ensure technological watch in the field of information systems security;
  • Ensure the application of the regulations relating to the obligation of the periodic audit of the security of information systems and networks installed on the national territory;
  • Issue approvals to security devices and mechanisms intended to protect information systems;
  • Coordinate at regional and international level the agency's relations with its external partners;
  • Participate in national and international meetings on the security of information systems.
